My name is Bethany and I am a State-Certified Birth Doula and 200-hour trained Yoga Teacher. I am passionate about offering a community-centered care to those on their birth journeys looking for a more integrated and holistic approach. I am based out of the South Puget Sound and am originally from Renton, WA.
My practice is deeply informed by the lineage of the Babaylan—the pre-colonial Filipina/o/x healers, midwives, spiritual leaders, and community guides who held profound responsibility for the wellbeing of their people. Babaylan tended to birth, death, illness, community conflict, ritual, and the spiritual worlds. Their work was holistic, grounded in land, intuition, and embodied wisdom.
As a first-generation Filipina American, I blend evidence-based birth support with practices inspired by my lineage, creating care that feels both modern and ancestral, nurturing and empowering. As a doula, I carry forward these ancestral threads in ways that honor tradition while meeting the modern needs of birthing people. This shows up in my care through:
Babaylan healing centered the body as a source of knowing. In my sessions, I create space for you to slow down, listen within, and reconnect with what your body is telling you—especially in moments of transition, fear, or intensity.
Birth is more than a medical event. It is a rite of passage. I offer gentle rituals—grounding practices, breathwork, intention-setting, or simple moments of reverence—to help mark your journey with meaning and connection.
Traditional Babaylan work often involved tending to the womb, supporting balance, and helping energy move freely. In my approach, this translates into education around postpartum recovery, pelvic floor awareness, and embodied practices that restore softness, strength, and circulation.
Babaylan were community keepers. I strive to embody that through culturally-rooted, affirming support—especially for those navigating birth while also holding identity, migration stories, generational trauma, or systemic barriers.
The Babaylan stood at the intersection of spiritual and social leadership. In birth spaces today, this translates into helping you communicate your needs clearly, supporting informed choices, and creating grounded presence during moments when your voice deserves amplification.
